About Tick Sweeps
The last recorded State of Oregon tick sweep was in 1998. How do we know what the real risks are to our citizens and our visitors is if we don't survey? We've little concept of what pathogens are really within the state and for that reason the foundation feels it's best to resume a fully public survey. The term 'Tick Sweep' is a method of collecting ticks with a white drag cloth. They will be preserved and sent into a laboratory for proper testing.
We are starting our Tick Sweep program with all of the Lane County Parks. If you'd like to help, please first, become a member. Interested in volunteering to help with our Tick Sweeps? Let us know Hope to see ya as part of The Flippin Team! |
